I am a Senior System Administrator of twenty two years total experience with ten years of Linux and Windows system administration experience. Experienced and proficient problem solver, expert in Bash/PowerShell/Ansible script automation, system provisioning, VMWare virtualization, SAN storage, cloud infrastructure, data center redundancies, and technical documentation. Also have twenty years experience in Web Development, expert in HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, intermediate with Java, Python. Fluently speak, read and write in English and French.

Working within a strong Linux support team, monitor server health status, work closely with project teams, patching, and supporting backup solutions on a day-to-day basis. Address Incidents by performing diagnostics and troubleshooting while respecting established procedures, taking care to document actions. Engage peers or other teams as required. Process Work requests according to established procedures. Submit and perform Change requests as required (application of patches and software upgrades, equipment repair and installation, etc.) Perform daily tasks such as checking logs, adding users, backup validations, etc. Continually ensure the integrity of data entered in management tools and databases (Network CMDB).

Remotely supported hosted web application services on Linux Red Hat 7 and Windows Server 2012R2 based servers in a virtualized environment; built and maintained established procedures, technical SOP and a procedural documentation knowledge base. Conceptualized methods and solutions, provided leadership and management for system-based projects and trained technical staff in utilizing new software and hardware. Selected Accomplishments: • Migrated from over 30 physical servers onto 10 virtualized as part of a data center migration, resulting in monthly savings of 27K • Implemented an in-house postfix environment to handle multiple data center e-mail services at no cost • Acted as the lead in charge of the CyrusOne data center facility migration to Rackspace data centers • Led successful Disaster Recovery Test projects for 3 consecutive years, which included managing a group of people involved in testing the DR capabilities by product and providing technical assistance • Created a complex, 30 question Linux interview test for Linux administrator applicant, which led to the successful hiring of a new administrator • Developed Bash script for internal use for Datawarehouse processing product, later introduced publicly as a product feature for all clients • Created a PowerShell script which resolved a task that put a data center migration schedule at risk • Created four data center virtual environments with over 100 Windows, Linux, Appliances and network devices • Recommended the use of EMC SAN RPA to replicate data between data centers instead of using proprietary database software solution, which resulted in annual savings of 202K • Developed a Bash shell script to configure ACL permissions based on product needs per server • Developed several task oriented Bash shell scripts, and an ad-hoc Bash script repository management system, which managed and updated scripts on the data center servers
